Board Changes

James Latham announces that Chris Sutton, an Executive Director of the Company, has informed the Board of his intention to retire on 31 March 2019.  Chris is Managing Director of Lathams Limited (“Lathams”), the Group's trading subsidiary, and has served on the plc board since 2005.

Executive Director Andrew Wright will be appointed Managing Director of Lathams with effect from April 2019.  Andrew has worked for the Company for 17 years and has been on the plc board since 2015.  He is currently the director responsible for panels and is an integral part of the senior management team.

Chris Sutton commented:

“I have hugely enjoyed my time at James Latham and being part of the success of this great business.  I am immensely proud of what we have achieved and how the Company is respected within the industry.  I feel that, after 40 years, now is the right time to step back and let someone else drive the Lathams business forward.”

Chairman Nick Latham commented:

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Chris for his very loyal and committed service for the last 40 years.  Chris has been instrumental to the development of James Latham, and has been Managing Director of Lathams during a period of significant growth.  Although Chris is retiring in his full time capacity, we are delighted that he will be retained on a consultancy basis in order to work on some specific key projects and also to ensure a smooth and effective transition to his successor.  I would like to wish Chris every happiness in his retirement.”

In addition, James Latham announces that Meryl Bushell (who joined the Board in September 2008) will, as planned, retire as a Non-Executive Director of the Company on 31 August 2018.  Paula Kerrigan was appointed in October 2017 as a Non-Executive Director of the Company in anticipation of Meryl's retirement.

Chairman Nick Latham commented:

“Meryl has been a highly valued member of the Board and her challenging questions have helped guide us through what has been an exciting period in the Company's development.  On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Meryl for her contribution and wish her well for the future.”
