James Sharp appoints new Investment Advisor

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Philip Hull to James Sharp.

Phil joined us on 31st January 2019 as an Investment Advisor in the front office.

He has over 30 years investment experience primarily in discretionary management which will be of considerable assistance to us going forward.

Phil joined Bolton based Hanson & Co in April 1987 and following their take-over by Capel Cure-Myers (CCM) moved to Manchester in mid '92. During that first 5 years he achieved all of his professional qualifications and had started to assist the head partner in the managing of his discretionary clients.

Having left CCM in Sept '94 to go travelling, Phil returned to stockbroking in May'95 and joined Tilney & Co in their Aberdeen office again handling discretionary managed accounts and undertaking other general stockbroking roles. Following an approach in April'96, he returned to Manchester to join Henry Cooke Lumsden (HCL) and over the next 11 years he developed his own Discretionary Managed client base comprising individuals, families, trusts & Corporate accounts. HCL were subsequently taken over by Brown Shipley(BS).

In March 2008, after over 11 years with HCL/BS, Phil decided to join other ex-HCL staff at Charles Stanley (CS) where he provided the full range of managed portfolio services with particular focus on his discretionary clients. After 10 years with CS, Phil left the firm in late Oct'2018.

Phil has Chartered FCSI member status of the CISI and also has been accredited with the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager status.
